About Our Business We have one goal and one purpose: To provide the very best products that have been tested and meet our standards. Core products from core surfers to core surfers. No fluff. We don't believe in spray and pray marketing, rather than carry every brand we can get, we choose the brands that are right for us. We probably won't have many "big name" products but you also won't see our products in a mall "surf shop" in Tulsa either. If you see us in the water you'll see us using our products. We've hand-picked our vendors because they make great products that compliment our custom board line and share and/or support our philosophy. Over the years we've learned the biggest is rarely the best. We'll go broke before we sell out and we'll go down fighting. Core with a Conscience We also believe in taking care of the environment, we're not activists or extremists but we believe the oceans and nature are a gift and if you don't take care of them you will (rightly) lose them. We participate in 1% for the planet and fully support the efforts of Surfrider Foundation, Surfaid International and many other great organizations. Whenever possible, we support companies with a green agenda, recycle, use recycled material for packaging and invoicing and try to handle as much business as possible paper-less. We are also looking into transition our custom board line to greener products and prefer to promote our NVS Green epoxy boards as well as explore alternate materials. We are exclusively using blanks made by Ice 9 and BioFoam™. These are agriculture based polyurethane foams that results in at least 36% less global warming emissions, a 61% reduction in non-renewable energy resources and a 23% reduction in total energy demand. There is also a polyurethane resin made in the same practice that we plan to evaluate as soon as it's released. Our "standard label" NVS board is still cleaner than most poly boards since it is still made with an Ice 9 blank. The Ice 9 has proven to be as good or better than any Post-Clark era blank. We have big plans for our NVS branded clothing line that's in development. We plan to use organically grown cotton, Tencel, Modal, hemp and post-consumer recycled materials among others. We also are committed to using only vegetable dye or water based inks whenever available for our printing. Even our name has meaning to us, although NVS seems like a catchy name it is actually an acronym for North Volusia Sport. This is where our roots are. We're now located in the heart of Florida. Being based in Central Florida allows us to chase storms on the Gulf Coast, explore our favorite breaks from St. Augustine to Bethune Beach and Second Light to Sebastian Inlet as well as points up and down the "right" coast. It also gives us easy access to air travel and the opportunity to explore Orlando Surf Expo twice a year to find the best, most innovative products Rather than conforming to the "normal" on-line or local surf shop that carries multiple brands of the same product lines, we have chosen to carry a few select brands that cover the needs of core surfers. For our NVS Green branded custom epoxy surfboards we have partnered with regional shapers, We will offer Ice 9 or BioFoam™/epoxy boards under the NVS green brand or Ice 9 with poly resin as the "standard" NVS brand. Whatever style of board you choose it will be custom shaped to work for you. Not some off the rack one-size fits all board but a real custom board made just for you at a price that will rival "cookie cutter" boards. We know there is still a big demand for traditional boards and if you're not ready to make the jump to new and greener technologies we understand. We're not forcing change but merely showcasing alternatives. Our NVS standard poly board looks just like the boards you'er used to riding and is very fast, light and responsive while still being better for the envrionment. We have also partnered with Future Fins, bringing you the best, most diverse line-up of fins on the market. Our custom boards are available exclusively with Futures or glass-ons. We also stock FCS and Lokbox base fins from Rainbow Fins, inluding longboard fins, for your purchasing needs. You can rest assured you can find the right fin template to go with your custom board and all Futures templates will be available as an upgrade with your custom boards or on their own, to upgrade a board that's already in your current quiver. If you want a performance thruster, semi or full gun, fun shape or retro we have your fins, single, twin, thruster, quad, quad + 1 or bonzer We have them all. For traction, we stay true to our Florida roots with X-Trak leashes and traction including the new "Goods" series, Damien & CJ Hobgood's signature line, the future of traction today. We also offer Sticky Bumps general accessories along with select traction models. We feel their quality to price ratio is untouchable. We have just become the East Coast distributor for Curve boardbags and accessories. They are a really innovative company with a great line.
